Summary: You will create a video tour of your school, share about your daily routine/school life, or create an informational video about the education system where you live.
First due (by January 19, you will post your video). Seconde due (by January 31, you will respond to the students from partner school)
Video length: 3 - 4 minutes would be nice (but do not stressed about it)
Audience: Students at your partner school abroad who are curious about daily school life and the education system in your country
Your video should include:
1. Introduce yourself (each member of group, if not an individual)

Option 1. Video tour of your school/daily school life (These are just ideas, I am not asking you to include all of them)

· Clean your camera lens
· If using a phone, hold the phone horizontal, not vertical
· Make sure the audio is clear (if the place is too noisy, try getting closer or recording the audio
after)

- Do you have breaks between classes? Do you have recess or periods of free time? Where can students go during their lunch break or free periods during the school day?
- What classes/subjects does your school offer? Can students choose the classes will they take?
- At what time does your school day end?
- What do students typically do after school?
Option 2. Education System
- What type of schools are there in your community? (e.g. public, private, charter)
- What grade levels are mandatory and what grade levels are optional? What subjects/courses are mandatory for students? What optional subjects/courses are typically offered and/or are most popular among students?
- What are the course requirements in your country/state/school district?
- What options do students have after high school? (e.g. vocational training,
college/university, work opportunities) - What are exams and testing like? How does college admissions work?

Showcase your region to your partner school Connecting Classrooms Activity 2
Summary: You will create a promotional video to showcase your city to students at your partner school and explain why it’s a great option for a school exchange. Make a video by (February 19 --> postponed till March 5) , and respond to at least one student from the partner school by ( February 26--> postponed till March 5)
Video length: 2 - 4 minutes
Audience: Students at your partner school abroad who are curious about daily life and culture in your country.
Your video should include:
- Introduce yourself (each member of group, if not an individual)
- Your first name
- Purpose of the video (“We’re here to tell you,” “we’re going to show you...”)
- Discuss the topic
- Ending – What questions do you have for students at your partner school on this topic?
- Why is your city the best place for a homestay? (1-2 reasons why your student peers abroad should choose your city/town for a homestay experience).
- What are the top three sites that students should visit in your area?
- What are some typical dishes/foods from your city/region?
- Share some insider tips about your city. (e.g. Where can your student peers abroad
find the best burger, best clothing store, or best park/public space to hang out) - What are some sayings unique to your city/region?
- What is your city/region best known for?
Adaptations:
- Students can choose another city/region in their country.
- Present information about their partner school’s town/region through online research
or gathering information from their partner school directly.

- What do you have in your closet?
- Do you usually go to the mall to shop or to individual stores?

- What sports are most popular at your school?
