Preparing for college?
It is not too early to start preparing from 9th grade.
First, you should create College plan folder (or binder) and start saving everything school related, academic record, volunteer proof and letter of recommendations, sports activities, awards, etc and organize them in this folder (or binder). Make your high school portfolio.

If you already have a specific university in mind, you should contact the university’s welcome center (if they have) to make an appointment to visit the school and understand. You may or may not like the school. And ask for the various kind of scholarship opportunities, including textbooks.

You can find out the professor’s reputation through the comments of students who actually took the class.

Study for ACT and SAT, while you know the requirement of the university you want to go to.

Since you already pay many expenses of your child (such as gasoline, prom dress, etc), why don't you start a credit card with your child's name now?, so that by the time he/she graduates from high school, their good credit record will be already established (if you have paid the monthly debt, that is...).
